I am building my girls a backyard terrain park with some mountain quality features (rails and boxes) and I found your set up helpful. You should share your rope tow plans. Thats going to be the trickiest part. Thank you!

It seems like both of you are really both intrested in seeing wilmot get more involved with there terrian park which is a very good idea. It can only lead to big and better things for the ski area I belive. I hope I can help in anyway with it this year. Just hate to see things done halfway and not the way it could be done.

Comments:   Sorry to say, what a disappointing presentation of nordic ski technique. When will we ever get away from such archaic accounts of the diagonal stride - this is why soooo many people never discover the fun in a truly efficient and effective stride. After I saw your photo and description of the Telemark I was a bit relieved because I became convinced the site must be 20 or more years old; but alas, it seems this is current. It reminded me of manual I was trying to learn the Tele from in the early 1980s. I don't mean to be offensive but it pains me to see instructions that will perpetuate the clumsy and unexciting view of nordic skiing.

Comments:   Your sit is very usefull and has a rich information. May be you wil help me in my problem. I would like to teach my child (4 years) to snowboard. I had such experience with adult, but I think, lessons for child should have a play and special steps, which are not included in adult technique. I am afraid that possible mistakes can break of a wish to skate. Another fear – snowboarding is not orthopedic for body posture. At the same time I know that surfing, for example, is a lesson at Hawaii schools. What is your opinion? What you could advice me?

Comments:   I've been on snow for over 7 years, but only the last season on a board. Quite more enjoyable than skiing, now i'm regret of the lost years.. This site is what i was looking for, actually more than i expected. I also thank you nice people for saving me paying again to an instructor, 'cuz now i clearly remember all what i learned at my first-and-last two lessons. The new tricks i got and the photos are quite helpful that I can't wait for the next 5 days to go and try'em all!! One thing: Adding some strechting and flexition exercises to do before going to the mountain, would make the site a complete perfect one. Thanks for keeping it simple and helping boarders without no cost! :)

Thanks, it's an excellent resource, I shall certainly be telling my students about you.Yours sincerely, sharon.

Since then, I've gotten much better and it all started here. I learned a lot from this site and I'm glad to see it's still helping many people.

I found your article re: revolving carpet ski deck and saw photos of deck with Powder Mountain sign in back. Is this still in existence? Can you provide any additional information about it. I currently own Moving Mountain Ski & Snowboard School in Santa Cruz and am LEvel III instructor. We've added overhead harness for no falling while learning, especially effective for snowboard lessons. Wondering if you still work with them.

Hello, my name is Walt Richardson. My daughter, Emily, and I
met Henry Laquer at Taos just before Christmas. He told us
about how you met at Taos as we had a short visit on the
mountain while catching our breaths. We tracked him down
when we got home to send him a picture we had taken and he
suggested we check out your website. Just wanted to say
hello and tell you what a pleasure it was meeting Henry.
I told Henry it had always been my goal to ski free at Taos
(only 20 more years). Now Henry has inspired me to reset my
goal to skiing free for at least 10 years.

Best wishes for the New Year,

Walt Richardson
