GETTING UP ON A SLALOM


Float in the water with the ski in front of you and your arms extended, rope in hand. Keep the rear leg out of the binding and behind your body to act as a steering rudder. When the boat begins to pull (Photo 1), keep your front leg bent. Keep the ski in front of your body and keep the front leg bent for balance as you lift out of the water (Photos 2 and 3).



As the ski begins to plane, slowly stand up as shown in Photo 4. As speed increases, lean back to resist the tow rope pull and assume the skiing position (Photo 5).
